To our valued NES customer and associates,
When something works, it’s best to stick with it.
That’s been my motto for our Source Qualification Inspection (SQI) program for the last 27 years. For those needing to evaluate bearing supplier design intentions, manufacturing capability and overall quality of workmanship, our SQI program is at the top of the class and provides unprecedented value.
I’ve preached that performing SQI is the first step in any bearing qualification program because of the huge risk reduction value it provides. Over the years we’ve improved many aspects of the SQI. Today, I’m excited to see the new ways our engineers and technicians are measuring critical characteristics and developing new tools for data analysis and presentation of the results. The overall mission of the SQI has not changed but we’re in the midst of a revolutionary change in how we present our findings to you.
The future is truly exciting. As much as I understand the benefit of enhanced technical achievement, I’m also keenly aware of the need to provide speed of service. Over the last year, we have developed additional technical staff to reduce the lead time for our Source Qualification Program. I’m happy to share this news with you this month because at the end of the day, time is of the essence when dealing with the challenges of supply chain shortages or when attempting to benefit from a new supplier’s offering.
Understanding lubricant fundamentals is important when selecting the proper grease or oil for an application. Andrew Hvizdzak and Tim Asquith discuss the lubricant viscosity ratio this month in our technical brief.
NES celebrated its 27th anniversary this month. A lot has changed in that time but not our focus on bearing inspection, bearing testing and custom bearing manufacturing. I guess when something works, you stick with it!
