Napoleon Engineering Services Receives

Nadcap® Accreditation for Non-Destructive Testing

Napoleon Engineering Services (NES), located in Olean, N.Y., has received Nadcap® accreditation for Non-Destructive Testing, company president Chris Napoleon announced on Monday.

Nadcap® (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) Nadcap® is a globally recognized, industry-managed accreditation program ensuring quality, safety and operational excellence across the aerospace, defense and space sectors.

NES, following an extensive three-day audit in late October, was granted certification by the Nadcap Management Council earlier this week for specific services related to Non-Destructive Testing, including Etch Inspection Processes and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI). A small triumph for the company, the external audit revealed no major or minor findings related to its NDT processes and procedures.

MPI marks the second Nadcap® accreditation that Napoleon Engineering Services has received, following Chemical Processing for Surface Temper Etch accreditation in the fall of 2023.

“Nadcap® accreditation in these two Non-Destructive Testing areas is critical to our mission as a short lead time supplier of custom bearings for the aerospace industry,” Chris Napoleon, NES president and chief engineer, said. “Having this certified capability in-house results in a significant reduction in product lead time and material handling issues due to shipping to outside service providers.

“I’m proud of the efforts of our quality team, Level II and Level III NDT personnel to achieve this goal.  They have been training and working towards this for many years. Accreditation with no major or minor findings is a testament to their hard work and dedication to NES and our customers.”

NES received Nadcap® accreditation for demonstrating its ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry expectations within the aerospace sector.

Nadcap® accreditation is globally recognized as a hallmark of quality and is a major accomplishment,” Jay Solomond, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Performance Review Institute, said. “For many years, the aerospace industry has incorporated Nadcap® into its approach for handling risk, as it demonstrates compliance to industry standards and customer requirements.

“I am delighted, therefore, that Napoleon Engineering Services has achieved Nadcap® accreditation for Non-Destructive Testing, and that all their hard work has paid off.”
