Dust Box Testing
For low efficiency, standard duty seals, Napoleon Engineering Services recommends the use of its dust box testing rigs. Containing only ISO fine or coarse test dust, these rigs can determine seal effectiveness on bearings from 3/4″-5″ OD. NES is capable of testing 4-8 bearings at a given time on each of its two dust box rigs. Like mud slurry testing, dust box tests allow bearing users to make critical decisions on seal efficiency in a matter of weeks instead of months of unreliable field testing.
